At our stand, we showcased a selection of FLUX liquid-handling solutions. Each one addressing a different transfer challenge.
Different Liquids Need Different Pumping Solutions
Industrial liquid transfer is rarely as simple as moving a product from one point to another.
A thin chemical behaves very differently from a viscous product. An abrasive slurry creates different challenges from a clean liquid. Aggressive chemicals can also place additional demands on pumps, seals and other components.
The transfer method therefore needs to match the application.
This was one of the key messages behind our Electra Mining display. Instead of presenting one pump as the answer to every problem, we demonstrated several technologies designed for different operating conditions and applications.
FLUX Hose Pump: A Different Approach to Difficult Media
Abrasive media, viscous liquids and products containing solids can place significant demands on conventional pumping equipment. Shear-sensitive products may also require gentler handling.
The FLUX Hose Pump uses peristaltic pumping technology to address these applications.
Instead of the product moving through several internal pump components, the medium travels through a hose. The pumping action compresses the hose to move the product forward.
This design creates a simple product path and allows the pump to handle difficult media.
For industries dealing with slurries, abrasive products or other challenging liquids, this provides another option when selecting a transfer system.
It also demonstrated an important theme at our stand: understanding the application comes before choosing the pump.
MAGSON Magnetic Drive Pumps: Reducing the Risk of Leakage
Many industrial processes need pumps for continuous transfer or circulation. When aggressive or sensitive chemicals are involved, preventing leakage becomes especially important.
This is where FLUX MAGSON magnetic drive pumps offer a different approach.
Magnetic drive technology removes the need for a conventional mechanical shaft seal. This helps reduce potential leakage points and makes the technology well suited to demanding chemical transfer applications.
At Electra Mining, the MAGSON range allowed us to demonstrate an important principle: pump selection should consider more than just flow rate.
The characteristics of the liquid matter.
Chemical compatibility, operating conditions and the transfer process itself should all influence the pump selected for an application.
Going Cordless with the FLUX FBM 4100
One of the technologies that generated interest at our stand was the FLUX FBM 4100 Battery Motor.
The world’s first intelligent drum pump motor. It combines cordless operation with smart functions such as batch filling and dry-run protection.
Why does that matter?
Power cables can restrict where operators use a drum pump. In some locations, access to a mains connection may also be difficult.
Battery operation gives the operator more freedom to move between transfer points. The FBM 4100 uses two 18 V batteries and brings battery-powered operation to FLUX drum pump applications.
The technology goes beyond mobility.
Its batch filling function allows operators to repeat filling processes without separate measuring equipment. Dry-run protection can detect an empty container and stop the motor. This helps protect the pump from damage. LED container lighting also helps operators check the liquid level.
In other words, battery technology is not simply replacing the cable. It is creating a smarter way to manage liquid transfer.
FLUX Drum Pumps: Making Container Transfer Easier
Drums and containers remain common across mining, chemical and industrial facilities.
However, getting liquid out of them can create challenges. Manual handling can increase the risk of spills, product exposure and waste. It can also make routine transfer unnecessarily slow.
FLUX drum pumps provide a more controlled way to transfer liquids directly from drums and containers.
Different pump tube materials, and various motor options allow the system to suit different media and working environments. This makes drum pump selection an important part of creating a safer and more practical transfer process.
At Electra Mining, visitors could see these systems first-hand and discuss how they could fit into their own applications.
From Simple Transfer to Smarter Liquid Handling
The products we displayed may use very different technologies, but they all support the same goal.
Move the right product in the right way.
A drum pump can improve everyday container transfer. A battery motor can provide greater mobility and intelligent control. A magnetic drive pump can help manage sensitive chemical applications. A hose pump can tackle media that is difficult for other pump designs to handle.
The technology changes because the application changes.
That is why understanding factors such as viscosity, chemical compatibility, solids content, flow requirements and the working environment is so important.
Selecting a pump should never begin with the pump alone. It should begin with the process.
