Many manufacturers need to invest in systems that enable them to remove oxygen and other dissolved gases from their product. A deaerator is one of the most common devices for removing these gases.
Acufill’s deaerator is used to remove bubbles that are caused by stirring and mixing products and two of the main benefits of using this piece of equipment are that it helps manufacturers prolong the shelf life of the product, and that it gives the final product a smoother consistency. Deaeration also prevents oxidative phenomena such as discoloration and changes to odour and flavour, especially in the case of greases and oils.
The vacuum deaerating unit can be used on products that have a liquid, semi-liquid or paste-like consistency. The PerMix deaerator is available in six machine sizes, it is easy to clean and it is optimally adaptable to any product. Manufacturers will also be able to considerably increase the dosing accuracy of the subsequent filling devices seeing as deaerated products are easier and quicker to fill.
How it works:
The product is fed onto a rotating disc in the vacuum vessel via a dosing valve. Centrifugal force projects the product through a crown sieve against the inner wall of the vessel. This action breaks any pockets in the product mass, allowing the release of gases which are then extracted from the vessel by means of a vacuum pump. Equally suitable for products with a robust structure and for sensitive emulsions, the PerMix vacuum deaerator eliminates even the smallest air pockets. The unit operates continuously, and is generally the last piece of equipment in a processing installation or the first in a filling line.
