One of my favourite products to work with…the FLUX drum emptying pump. It solves so many challenges in the transferring of raw materials from drums or IBC Flow Bins.
Applications can be from transferring liquids from raw material drums or IBC to production vessels, and applications can be for down-packing direct from drums and IBC Flow bins to end user sizes such as 5L, 25L and so forth.
My favourite part of these pumps is how they solve the health and safety points in a factory. From eradicating the need for hoisting drums up into the air and tipping them over, to solving issues of spilling, resolving product contact between operator and dangerous chemicals or flammable alcohols these pumps are simple, portable and safe to use.
With pumps for both high and low viscous products here are the questions that need to be answered:
- What is the product you want to pump?
- Does your product come in IBC Flow Bins (1000L) or in 210L drums?
- How far and how high do you need to pump?
- What is the required flow rate? I.e. how quickly do you need to transfer the goods?
- What is the product viscosity?
- In the case of chemicals what is the concentration?
- TIP: Send us the product MSDS sheet and we can check it for you and advise you what is the best pump material for your needs. This is a critical point as pumps are made from different materials and have different seals. Making sure the pumps has all the necessary resistance to your product will ensure its longevity.
If you are looking to down-pack from drums or IBC bins into smaller containers such as 5L or 25L then let us know:
- The final pack size?
- The inner diameter of the aperture (the cap opening)?
- Do you pack by volume or by weight?
Good information leads to a correct specification. Send us your requirement and we will specify the correct liquid pump for you first time around.
