Flux pumps are common features in food factories. Here are 3 applications to sink your teeth into:

  1. Filling of high-viscosity glucose

Task:
High-viscosity glucose requires pumping from IBCs into mixing containers in quantities of 250-350 kg. 300 kg of glucose currently takes approx. 90 minutes to move. This time needs drastically reducing.

Solution:
Eccentric worm-drive pump Viscopower F580
Spur gear motor
For the application designed accessories on request

Application description:
FLUX eccentric worm-drive pumps from the Viscopower F580 series with bearing flange are ideal for high-viscosity and sticky media, including glucose. The positive displacement pumps work with low turbulence and under constant pressure to ensure gentle, pulsation-free pumping.

For cleaning, which needs doing frequently in the food sector, the pump can be disassembled in just a few steps.

The mixing container to be filled is on scales. Once the desired fill quantity is reached, the operator can simply turn off the pump. The spur gear motor makes it possible to adjust the speed exactly, to the best option for the medium’s temperature.

By using our Viscopower F 580 eccentric worm-drive pump, it was possible to speed up the filling process for 300 kg of glucose significantly: from 90 minutes to just 45 minutes now.

2. Mixing and pumping of low viscosity oils

Task:
Low viscosity oils are to be mixed and filled from various IBCs.

Customer’s requirements:
– FDA-compliant parts and materials for the food industry

Solution:
MINIFLUX
Compressed air motor F 416
For the application designed accessories on request

Application description:
Our MINIFLUX, which was specially designed for fitting on the bottom outflow of IBCs, is perfect for this. It can therefore also be used with IBCs that are not accessible from the top, for example due to being stacked.

In this scenario, the MINIFLUX will be fitted to the IBC with a riser in which the 3-way valve is integrated. Pumping can be done in a circular motion to help the built-in agitator and the medium can be filled into a storage container after the homogeneous mixing. Both variants, in other words the mixing and the pumping, are requirements in many processes and our custom design allows this to be done in the best possible way in each instance.

3. Metering Juice Concentrates

Task:
Various juice concentrates are to be metered out of different lidded drums with inliners into a batching tank.

Solution:
Drum pump FP 427 FOOD
Commutator motor F 458-1
For the application designed accessories on request

Application description:
Drums had previously been tipped into the batching container by a forklift, or the IBCs were lifted and the concentrates metered through the outlet. This not only led to frequent spillage of base material – the procedure was also problematic for hygienic reasons. With the FP 427 drum pump for hygienic applications that is now coming into use, the juice concentrates can be metered out of the drums and IBCs with almost no loss of medium. Filling with the FP 427 drum pump is fast and easy.

The user places the drum or the IBC alongside the batching tank, inserts the drum pump and switches it on. Metering runs very easily with the butterfly valve at the end of the hose. Once the desired amount has been filled, the valve is first closed and then the pump is switched off.
